Jindabyne Bowling & Sports Club is undertaking a huge transformation ahead of the 2025 ski season! 

From early-April we’ll be undertaking a staged refurbishment designed to bring fresh energy, improved comfort, and a modern twist to your club, all while staying true to the community feel we all love.

You can expect to see new some changes to the floor plan of the club throughout the main bar and bistro areas, with new carpet & furniture and a fresh coat of paint. Plus better viewing for live sport thanks to a host of new LED screens and audio technology.

This refurbishment is the result of feedback and consultation with members, guests, the Board and community members and we’re really excited to see the results in the near future.

Why are we doing this?

We’ve received extensive feedback from members and guests on the need to freshen up the club and ensure it is reflective of the community’s needs. The refurbishment is part of a refreshed approach to customer service and experience at Jindabyne Bowling & Sports Club, including new food service in the bistro, a new system that enables table service for our bowlers, poker players and darts comp participants.

When is this happening?

The project will kick-off early April and be completed prior to the launch of the ski season on the June long weekend.

Will the club be closed at all?

We aim to minimise any inconvenience to members so we’re working hard with our contractors & suppliers to minimise disruption to tthe club’s operations throughout this period. But we recognise that this is a major project being undertaken for the first time in decades, so a small period of closure may be necessary if it means we can conclude the refurbishment quicker and with the least amount of inconvenience to members and guests. We’ll keep you updated via our website, members email and social media throughout the project so be sure to follow us!

Will I lose my table?
All furniture in the club is being upgraded and we are reconfiguring the main bar/lounge area to offer distinct zones that better accommodate guests, whether you’re wanting to catch up for a social drink, get together with family or friends for a meal, or join your mates in watching the weeken’ds AFL & NRL action. We’re confident you’ll find somewhere to enjoy your time in the newly refrubished Bowlo
Where can I watch sport?
We’re upgrading our capacity to watch live sport with XX new screens being installed and a dedicated sports lounge area being created, meaning you’ll be able to get together with a group of any size to watch the latest sport live on our screens
Where do I have a bet?

You can still catch all the racing and sports betting in the same location

What's going to happen to the view?
The view over the bowling green will remain unchanged and in fact should improve due to the removal of shrubbery along the eastern edge of the bowling green which will open up the view whether your inside the club or on the green.
What's happening to the big screen?
The current big screen will be replaced with a host of new state of the art LED screens supported by directional speakers. This means you could be watching NRL with sound and a table nearby watching AFL, but the sound will not cross over each other.
What's the new seating capacity?
We’re adding around 20% more seats & tables whilst reconfiguring the main bar/lounge area so it will feel more cosy despite the increased capacity.
What about functions? What's our capacity?
Through the refurbishment we’re creating a new events space for up to 12 guests in various configurations, such as banquet or theatre style and equipped with or video conferencing, perfect for corporate day events, private dinners and more. Our conference room remains available for slightly larger groups and the bistro will continue to be available at a similar capacity to its current state for special events, despite the new configuration and furniture.
What about our regular events like poker and darts?
The refurbishment aims to provide a better experience for all our guests, whether you’re coming for a casual visit or for one of our regular events such as poker or darts. We’re aiming to provide an enhanced VIP experience for poker & darts guests, with your own dedicated space located in the downstairs conference room along with VIP table drinks service.
Where will the foyer sign & Jindabyne photo go?
Preserving the club’s history is important, so these will be displayed in other areas of the club. We know how much people like to stand and observe the photo for some time, so we’re moving it to the atrium between the main bar and bistro where it will still enjoy a high amount of foot traffic but allow people to be out of the way of the main entry whilst viewing it
Where are the pool tables going?
The pool tables are being removed to accommodate additional seating
Where are the dart boards going?
The electronic dart board will remain in the new sports lounge area whilst the competition dart boards will move to the new darts & poker room downstairs
Will bowls be affected during the renovation?
No, bowls will not be affected at any stage during the refurbishment
Will squash be affected during the renovation?

There will be no disruption to squash during this phase.

Will the Kids Playground be affected during the renovation?
The kids playground may suffer periodic closures during the fitout. These closures will be advertise…
